Badania Soalarystyczne 2.0 (Solar Research 2.0) was inspired by Mars One, a small private Dutch organisation that in 2012 proposed to land the first humans on Mars and leave them there to establish a permanent human colony in the coming decades.
Director Dawid Zakowski takes the idea of the Mars expedition (one-way trip) as a possibility, and engages a group of young men and woman, contestants, to prepare for a ‘once in a life time’ voyage. The audience is involved throughout the show and at the end decides who will be send to Mars.
Solar Research 2.0 is an example of a new post-dramaturgy.
The work has been developed with and for young participants. The work is visually framed by a spatially open installation/environment offering audience the possibility to participate or intrude/interact in real time.
